“Fistweaver” Talents Overview

Since the talent system received a huge revamp going into Dragonflight, we will cover both the class and the spec tree. They both have some mandatory and some optional talents. Below is the current “Fistweaving” build. Later on in this guide we will provide a build for the more standard “caster” variation of Mistweaver Monk.

“Fistweaving” Monk Class Talents

For your Fistweaver Monk Talent tree, this will be your typical default build, which will also include some flexibility options listed in all tiers of the tree. Making sure how to optimize this build while creating the tree will help you advance onto additional tiers until completion.

Starting off, in the second tier you have can swap aroundYu’lon’s GraceorDiffuse Magicdepending on your matchup or preference.

• Diffuse Magicprovides an on-demand Magic damage reduction, and is essential against casters that offer strong burst potential, especially againstFrost MagesorDestruction Warlocks.
• Yu’lon’s Graceis only 50% effective in PvP, providing a 1.5% Magic absorb shield to your character every two seconds. If you play on facing a caster composition that does not revolve around much burst, choose this talent.

Another flexible talent choice is selecting either Ring of Peace or Song of Chi-ji, as this is dependent on the composition you are playing as.

• Ring of Peace is the most recommended, as this grants you a knockback effect, allowing you to use this as either a peel, or to gatekeep enemy Healers from connecting to their allies.
• Song of Chi-ji is a promising alternative, as this is an additional control effect that can be used to create a Crowd Control chain on enemy targets, especially after applying Paralysis.

Our last flexible talent choice is between our mobility talents, Celerity and Chi Torpedo. Since we play more like a true melee class, we opt for Celerity since it provides more precise and more consistent uptime.

Now, let’s jump into the mandatory talents chosen that will enhance your performance as a Fistweaving Monk.

• Paralysis as an additional Crowd Control ability, and will immediately break on damage.
• Spear Hand Strike grants you an interrupt as a Healer. This build revolves around healing teammates by dealing melee damage, allowing you to gain the most value out of this talent choice.
• Tiger’s Lust grants you more mobility, and removes roots applied to your character. This will help with your uptime on targets.

The Monk tree also includes multiple major defensive cooldowns, including Diffuse Magic, Dampen Harm, and Fortifying Brew.

“Fistweaving” Mistweaver Spec Talents

All of your talents listed above in the Mistweaver talent tree are mandatory for Fistweaving, as these will empower your damaging spells for increased healing on yourself and allies.

There is one flexible talent, as this is between choosing Restoral or Revival, depending on the matchup faced. Both of these will be paired with Peaceweaver, as this will make yourself and allies immune to magical damage for a short duration.

• Restoral is one of your major burst healing cooldowns, as this removes Poison and Disease effects on all nearby friendly targets, and is castable in stuns.
• Revival acts similar to Restoral. The only difference is that this ability removes all Magical effects applied on yourself and allies, and is not usable in stuns. Make sure to play this against Affliction Warlocks to immediately deny their spread pressure.

• Ancient Teachings is what makes Fistweaver a viable option, as this allows your damaging melee spells to heal nearby allies.
• Faeline Stomp will enhance the effectiveness of Ancient Teachings, as this gives you an additional way to activate your Fistweaving healing.
• Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane prevents you from being rooted and snared, and increases your healing from Blackout Kick and Rising Sun Kick while active. It also grants you free, instant cast Enveloping Mists based on the amount of Blackout Kicks and Rising Sun Kicks used.

• Summon Jade Serpent Statue will apply a Soothing Mist duplicate on the target being healed by your Soothing Mist ability. This is due to Soothing Mist being an integral part of our healing.
• Save Them All enhances your healing spells when your target is at low Health. This boost of healing allows you to sustain your teammates quickly, strengthening your survivability toolkit.

“Caster” Mistweaver Spec Talents

All of your talents listed above in the Mistweaver talent tree are mandatory for casting, as these will empower your direct healing through Soothing Mist and your periodic HoT effects.

There is one flexible talent, as this is between choosing Restoral or Revival, depending on the matchup faced. Both of these will be paired with Peaceweaver, as this will make yourself and allies immune to magical damage for a short duration.

• Restoral is one of your major burst healing cooldowns, as this removes Poison and Disease effects on all nearby friendly targets, and is castable in stuns.
• Revival acts similar to Restoral. The only difference is that this ability removes all Magical effects applied on yourself and allies, and is not usable in stuns. Make sure to play this against Affliction Warlocks to immediately deny their spread pressure.

• Fistweaver is preferred in melee cleave mirrors for instance, because you have the ability to directly assist your team with damage while always being in a convenient position to heal them. This can also be good into pet classes such as Demonology Warlock, Unholy Death Knight, and Beast Mastery Hunter.
• Caster Mistweaver, on the other hand, can work better when playing with two ranged DPS, especially wizards, since you have more incentive to stay back and allow them to zone the enemy team away from you.

For “Fistweaver” Mistweaver Monk PvP talents, these listed below will be you default loadout in most games.

• Peaceweaver gives yourself and nearby allies a 2 second spell immunity when Revival or Restoral is pressed, making it quite strong into nearly every single comp.
