Just spent 20 minutes on the phone going through BMO's message prompt only to be put on hold and then disconnected. Hey BMO, I'm trying to refinance my home mortgage. I'm low-hanging fruit. You might want to improve your service. What a horrible experience!

I have been with this bank for over 4 years. I have three business accounts, one personal, and one savings account. Recently, I came in to get some information about a home loan, and the information was provided. I reached out to Tiara Lagarde at the East Chicago branch, and she sent me the application to get started. I uploaded all documents because I wanted to take advantage of all the grants for first-time home buyers. However, Tiara was terrible to work with; she barely answered, did not respond to any of my emails, or return any calls. I spoke with her on March 11 to get things rolling. She asked me a few questions, rushed my application, and I was denied. This was a horrible experience for me due to the lack of communication, information, and the unprofessional treatment I received from her as a first-time home buyer. I know everything was not entered correctly because I had been pre-approved with multiple lenders already. Nevertheless, I wanted to take advantage of the grants and first-time buyer incentives that BMO offers. I will be closing all my accounts and moving over to Chase, as I heard they have great service and come highly recommended by other business owners.

BMO acquired my mortgage when they bought Bank of the West. I also have business and personal checking accounts with them. The customer service is horrible, and nobody seems to know where my mortgage is. I have a recent tax document from BMO, and they say they don't have my loan. I was on hold for over half an hour and had to hang up.

Extremely complicated to do business with BMO. Made a mortgage payment and the system has it on hold to verify my identity. Called four times and no one knows what to do, and I keep getting bounced around. Placed on hold three times for over 42 minutes and 29 minutes with no resolution. I am being held hostage in being able to pay BMO. Unbelievable.

HORRIBLE COMPANY, EVERY SINCE THEY TOOK OVER FOR BANK OF THE WEST THERE HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. THESE ARE SOME OF THE MOST INCOMPETENT PEOPLE TO EVER BE IN BUSUNESS I HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG OR HOW THEY REMAIN IN BUSINESS. LAST MONTH, I RECEIVED A CALL ON A SUNDAY EVENING DURING SUNDAY NIGHT SERVICE, WHO CALLS THEIR CUSTOMERS (unless there is an emergency) ON SUNDAY'S WHEN FOLKS ARE SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY, DOWN TIME PREPARING FOR WORK ON MONDAY, ETC. I RECENTLY CONTACTED MY LOCAL BANK ABOUT MAKING AN INQUIRY TO THIS WORTHLESS FINANCIAL INSTITUTION AND CONSOLIDATING THIS LOAN WITH MY MORTGAGE. JUST PATHETIC, JUST PATHETIC AND VERY FRUSTRATING TO DEAL WITH THEM ON THE PHONE AND THE AUTOMATED SYSTEM IS POOR. I SINCERELY HOPE THE REGULATING COMPANY FOR A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION SUCH AS BMO READ THESE REVIEWS AND CALL OR VERIFY THE INFORMATION WRITTEN OR GIVEN. PLEASE SOMEONE FROM A FEDERAL REGULATORY AGENCY FOLLOW UP ON THESE ISSUES. CLOSE THEM DOWN IF NEEDS BE!!!

This is a minus 10 star institution - so bad that Bank of the West was acquired by this horrible Bank - looks like all its employees were hired via DEI - hopeless service and hopeless internet featuers - nothing gets done even in multiple calls. Leave this Bank and lender ASAP

This review is not solely related to Mortgages, also includes personal and business checking accounts. I have been with this bank for over 20 years starting with Harris Bank which was exceptional. Over the years I have been less than satisfied but have my mortgage, personal and business accounts at the bank. Switching would be difficult. Every contact with them gets worse; I am in the process of moving everything. Run, run fast, DO NOT BANK with BMO.

If you get turn down by bmo for a mortgage go to a different bank. If we had of just took no for an answer and didn’t go to a different bank we wouldn’t have a new home. Bmo is lazy and doesn’t really want to help we will be switching banks that’s for sure.

Worst bank ever. Recently my bank,Bank of the West switched to BMO. I hate this bank. Often ar night i cant sign on. This has happened several times after 11 pm Pst.If you call for help you get someone in Asia that you cant understand. I have had to call 4 x for problems with on line site. I often do my banking after 10pm bc thats when i get quiet time at my house. They are not open. So one can not talk to anyone about a mortgage statement or loan. All i needed tonight was my end of year statement for but can not access it on line, i got one from PennyMac on line, and a simple call to another lender resulted in one being sent to me immediately.. so now i have to call them before work in a.m
Seriously thinking about changing banks but really like my old bank branch. I have 4 accounts and a mortgage so switching is not going to be easy. I want Bank of the West back loved them.. Hate BMO.
